Cooking Channel’s United Tastes of America Pays a Visit

What a thrill it was when Jeffrey Saad, host of United Tastes of America, popped into our store and helped us create three of our favorite meatloaf cupcakes.  We whipped up Omega-3 Loaf, Chicken Shish Ka Loaf and Lamb-A-Liscious.  Watch the program on the Cooking Channel (all times are central) and read more about our day in the kitchen with Jeffrey:

What a day it was.  Jeffrey came in with his delightful crew.  And yes, they were early.  We were worried that would be a problem, but it was absolutely fine with them. The crew set up while we did the same — assembling  lots of mini bowls of ingredients so we could build our cupcakes from scratch.  The lights and mics miraculously appeared in our compact and functional kitchen. Let the cameras roll. Jeffrey and I experienced three different creations including our Omega-3 with wild-caught Alaskan salmon.  We thoroughly enjoyed talking about our Mediterranean backgrounds and how they influence our cooking.  For example, my Chicken Shish Ka Loaf is filled with spices and ingredients reminiscent of my upbringing. You can never have enough lemon and parsley!  We moved onto Lamb-A-Licious which was indeed a throwback to our backgrounds.  All the flavors of a delicious lamb dinner in one meatloaf cupcake.  We mixed, we baked, topped and ate.  And it was an absolute pleasure to have Jeffrey and his crew spend time with all of us at The Meatloaf Bakery.
